Intellectual and Developmental DisabilityServices
Burke’s intellectual and developmental disability services are tailored for each client’s personal and unique needs. We work with each client and family member to develop the most appropriate course of care that will help achieve individual goals.
Intellectual and developmental disability services at Burke require an intake appointment at which the individual’s history, diagnoses, and needs are evaluated.
The parent, legal guardian, primary caregiver, or individual may request services by calling 936-639-1479 or toll-free at 1-800-621-1523. A staff member will gather basic information about the individual, explain the intake process, and schedule an initial appointment.
IDD ProviderServices
Burke provides a diverse array of services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). These services are provided through Texas Health and Humans Service’s Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with IDD, Texas Home Living and Home and Community-based Services programs. Crisis InterventionServices
Burke provides Crisis Intervention Services to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with significant behavioral and psychiatric challenges. These individuals often exhibit substantial needs requiring additional support beyond the array of services typically provided within our community programs. Resources are expanded to address crisis situations with individuals who have IDD. Learn more here.
Training & Employment
Burke Industries provides clients with IDD an opportunity to obtain job skills training and ongoing employment. It also provides Day Habilitation services for individuals to improve social and daily living skills, community integration, and spend time with friends.
Our staff works directly with area businesses that have a variety of “outsourceable” needs, providing valuable work experience for our clients and allowing area businesses to support our work.

- Shredding
- Shrinkwrapping
- Sorting
- Labeling
- Inserts
We have a large workforce, modern production facilities, and storage space adequate to serve a variety of needs and can assist in communities across Burke’s service area.
