Brenda McClendon has been a member of the Burke team for three remarkable decades. Throughout her tenure at Burke, Brenda has had many roles—starting as a Residential Assistant and progressing to Manager of Supportive Employment, Vocational Specialist, and most recently, Manager of Burke Industries. In her current role, Brenda coordinates various day services, including cooking classes, community outings, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training, all aimed at promoting independence among individuals with disabilities.
Additionally, she oversees the Burke Industries Individual Skills and Socialization program, which focuses on skills training and community integration.
When asked about the reason for her longevity with Burke, Brenda shared, “I like to see when the individuals we work with succeed and find pride when realizing their own strengths and abilities.”

Burke's Employment Navigator program furthers the State of Texas's initiatives that allow all individuals with disabilities to participate in the integrated work environment. Burke collaborates with state and local agencies to make this happen, including the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas Education Agency, and school districts.
