Counseling for Combat Veterans

Too frequently our Veterans return from combat with scars–some of these are physical, others emotional. Oftentimes these scars can be life threatening as documented in this article by the Statesman. If you are a veteran or love a veteran that could use help and support, take advantage of free counseling at the Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN), located at 3003 North Medford Drive.
On Wednesday, August 26th, MVPN will have Shawna Munson from the Veteran’s Administration on site to provide counseling for combat veterans and/or those who have suffered sexual trauma while in the military.
MVPN is starting a peer support group at the Diboll prison system. We are looking for volunteers to aid with this effort.
NOTE: We are happy to announce the addition of MVPN volunteer, Robert Poskey. Mr. Poskey is experienced in aiding veterans with paperwork and claims filing. He is available Monday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
If you have additional questions about this event or would like to volunteer, please contact Jeff Headrick at 936-225-2887 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
