Too frequently our Veterans return from combat with scars–some of these are physical, others emotional. Oftentimes these scars can be life threatening as documented in this article by the Statesman. If you are a veteran or love a veteran that could use help and support, take advantage of free counseling at the Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN), located at 3003 North Medford Drive. The MVPN is staffed with volunteer counselors ready and able to discuss whatever is on the mind of our vets and their family members. It isn’t manly or loyal to your country to refuse to seek help; it is, instead, brave and bold to recognize that what you have come through isn’t ordinary and sometimes returning to the ordinary takes time and adjustment. We are here to help with that adjustment.
A counselor from Veteran’s Affairs will be available. Please call to schedule an appointment, (936) 225-2887.
